VITAMIN C BOOST CITRUS JUICE

Fall is almost here!! Time to boost our Vitamin C intake and what better way to do it than with Citrus fruits. Today as I was standing in the produce section, staring at all the different kinds of fruits and vegetables I realize how privilege most of us are to walk into a store and have so many choices.  Yes, I feel so grateful. This refreshing juice is a great way to start your day.

WAIT!! Don’t throw away the citrus peels. Here’s a few TIPS & TRICKS using the peels or zest.

CITRUS ZEST

Rinse the citrus fruit really well and zest the peel using a microplane grater. Fill ice cube tray holes 3/4 to the top with the zest. Top up with water and freeze. use it in your drinks or cooking.

INFUSED TEA

Let citrus peels steep in your tea.

NATURAL CITRUS DISINFECTANT

Fill a clean glass jar with washed, chopped citrus peels. Pour in vinegar until they are completely covered. Screw the lid on tight and let the jar sit for a few weeks (preferably in a sunny window) while shaking occasionally. When you’re ready to use it pour the mixture through a mesh strainer and store in spray bottle. Use to clean surfaces.

Looking at the lemon blossoms on my lemon tree it reminded me that the seasons are changing. We can’t rush the seasons. It is patiently making way for new life. New blossoms, new fruit. Even though there’s so much change it is comforting to me to know that the roots are still the same.

If you are rooted in love, faith and hope you will find your way through the seasons of life.
